School of Medicine hosts Medical doctors from Linkoping University, Sweden

Dean Moi University School of Medicine, Dr. Julia Songok and Associate Dean Prof. Arthur Kwena hosted two medical doctors from Linkoping University, Sweden for a courtesy call in the Dean's office. Associate Prof. Laura Pompermaier is a General Surgeon and an expert in Plastic Surgery with lots of experience in research in Global Surgery and disaster management. Prof. Mans Muhrbeck is a General Surgeon and an expert in Colorectal Carcinoma and in humanitarian Surgery across several countries in Africa and beyond. The visitors were accompanied by Dr. Ronald Tonui, the coordinator for Moi University - College of Health Sciences (CHS) & Linkoping University collaboration. The main focus is on surgery and global health as well as meeting colleagues working in areas of Gastrointestinal surgery, disaster management, and Female Genital Mutilation re-construction. Development and teaching of programmes at Clinical Fellowship and at PHD level were also explored. Support for Msc Global Health and Disaster Management in the School of Public Health is also a priority.
