Head of Haematology and Blood Transfusion Department

The Department of Haematology and Blood Transfusion is located at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) out-patient building at the MTRH-Moi University College of Health Sciences (MUCHS) complex on Nandi road in Eldoret. The department was established in 1988 as one of the departments in the Faculty of Health Sciences, which later became School of medicine, Moi University It has now grown to 6 members of Staff.

The Department is involved in Teaching, mounting practical’s and Research for several undergraduate programmes (MBchB III, Nursing II ,Physiotherapy II ,Dentistry II, BMLS) and Postgraduate programmes (Surgery and Orthopaedics, Msc Immunology). The departments is involved in clinical and Research collaborations with Indiana University, VU medical center (Netherlands),UCSF-Consultancy for Kaposi Sarcoma, Africa cancer registry network(AFRCN) and International association of cancer registries(IARC).
